One Last Play Date

These chicks are children tested!

It was all fun and games until we had to say good-bye today.

A few tears were shed at the end of the day.

The cool thing was that everyone was able to tell something they learned throughout the week.

Here a Chick, There a Chick, Everywhere a Chick Chick

All everyone wanted to do is hold the chicks today.  We learned quickly how to clean up after them.  We also had many chick whispers putting them to sleep today!  There will be a lot of sad 3rd graders when they go home on Friday.

Yes, 3rd graders, #9 hatched and is doing fine!

It hatched at 3:51 p.m. and is peepin' away.

There's one for everyone, plus more!  We now have 26.

Our Room is Peepin'

What a day!  13 chicks hatched today.  # 5 and # 16 hatched this evening.  # 15 is hatching right now. He's out and is a cute little black one!  #4 & # 17 all have big holes in them tonight.  I'm sure we will have more chicks in the morning.  So our grand total of peeper right now is 22 out of 41.

Struttin' Our Stuff

The girl who could NOT wait to hold the chick!

Everyone enjoyed holding the chicks!

It was fun picking out our favorites to hold.

They like to flap their little wings.

Can we play with them all day long?

At the end of the day, we had 19 eggs hatch.  One chick did not survive.

We also threw out 4 eggs that were no good.

No Yolk...We Have a Baker's Dozen

It was a very productive night.

We found 6 new chicks this morning.

We are currently watching 3 more with

big holes in them.

We have also had many visitors this morning!

May 6, 2013 Our New Hatchlings

A view of chick #32.  He hatched about 11:30 a.m. today.
Checking out our new chicks.

The black and brown chick hatched sometime this morning.  They were cheeping when we came in the morning.

The first two that hatched are in the box with food and water.
